All About Panes of Promise
Welcome!
I'm Marian, and my journey into glass art began with a desire to be creative while quieting the questionable pain of purpose. Feeling inspired by color, broken glass, and sunlight lifted my soul so much -- I just couldn't let go.
Repurposing discarded items allowed the affordability to pursue creative experimentation. Success of experimentation gave way to promised renewal and intensified my creative passion. I found my fit!
2012 - Beginning with an old wooden-framed window and some broken glass, I sat to think through layout and design of my first creative. One design led to another and the need for a systematic process began to take shape along the way. It was through "doing" that I developed my own unique process of stomping, smashing, crushing and sifting fractured glass to desired sizes. Puzzling these pieces into transformed wall-art over the next several years began to draw interest. Requests of my window art grew in popularity among friends and felt quite promising.
"Panes of Promise" was born.
Organization is key to perpetuate a peaceful production of my art. Once setup, my thought process began to soar and the more I smashed glass, the more I loved it, and the better I felt about the results. My passion grew into a glass studio where I incorporate other elements; ie. natural woods, botanicals, slate, concrete, paint, canvas, etc.
My Mission
My mission is to celebrate the beauty in the broken by sharing, teaching, and creating unique, handcrafted glass art pieces that bring joy and inspiration to any person or space; whether, through dance of sunlight by day or candlelit ambiance by night. I believe in sustainability and creativity. Transforming discarded materials into stunning works of art warms my heart and feeds my soul! My hope is that others feel it too.
Thanks for stopping by. Reach out to make a smashing connection!
